EACCS Roundtable Discussion on Dispute Resolution and the need for Self Governance

The Employer Association for the Contact Centre Sector invites you to a round-table discussion on the merits of establishing a Voluntary, Dispute Resolution Forum within the Contact Centre Sector.

At present, in the absence of a licensed or recognised alternative dispute resolution forum for the Contact Centre Sector, employee's are free only to approach the CCMA for Conciliation or Arbitration, or both, on Disputes of Rights and also Interests which arise between Employee and Employer. There are moves afoot to draw the Contact Centre Sector into the Public Sector Bargaining Council, in-so-far as Public Sector Contact Centres are concerned, which in the process will involve Private Sector companies contracted to service those organisations. There are other Bargaining Councils that have also set their sights of applying to the DOL for an extension of current agreements to cover the Contact Centre Sector as non-parties, in the absence of self-governance structures within the Contact Centre Sector itself.

The EACC has as a priority, set its sights on establishing a voluntary alternative Dispute Resolution Forum for the Contact Centre Sector, facilitated and managed by the Employer Association, in-partnership with a DOL Registered and recognised professional organisation specialising in representing the rights and interests of Employers in this context.

We would like to invite HR and IR Managers from your company to attend our round-table to engage, discuss and agree on a strategy for the implementation of such a Forum within our sector amongst our membership. We need critical mass which not only requires your company commitment to participate in this Forum, adding to its Commissioner lists and utilising its services, but importantly to draw the active Trade Unions with which you engage, into this Forum on a voluntary and co-ownership basis.

Once established the EACC will then be working with the CCMA to formalise the Forum we have created on the same basis that it is mandated by the DOL to do, with
registered Bargaining Councils offering such services.
